Making mistakes

Why make mistakes? I am inclined to believe, that we all learn from our mistakes or I think we do. As we are generally dealing with speech, it is ok to make mistakes in our lessons, that way when you are in the company of others or speaking with friends & colleagues, you will be less likely to make those same mistakes. Making mistakes should not stress you & if it does, then our classes are what you are looking for. If you do not speak, there is nothing to correct, on the other hand, if you do speak & make mistakes. We will try to correct you, though not so that you lose your train of thought. Remember it is all part of your learning process. You will be, corrected.

Now is the time to think of a new approach to your studying, if you had a de-motivating experience at school or felt that English was too hard. The chance has now arrived where you forget those worries, you need to feel comfortable & enjoy your learning. Most of our lessons focus on conversation & structured within specific topics. The main reason for this is as children we learnt to speak before we could read, on the other hand although we can now read it is much harder to speak another language.

Do consider this, language is not something you memorize, it is not an illusion. Language is a story. How the words are used & the way we express ourselves. The idea is that if you hear the words again & again your brain processes the information & stores it. Your job is to use it when it is appropriate without over thinking what it is that you need to say.

Through our experience with Czech students, we have come to understand that in some cases it is very much to do with stress, being afraid, embarrassed even becoming paralyzed & unable to say much if anything at all. Every step you make forward, is a step that brings you closer to the end of your journey.
